Digital Mentoring/ Shadowing Opportunities

The University of Lincoln is working closely with local industry to offer Lincoln Award students the opportunity of shadowing or digital mentorship within some exciting and dynamic local companies.

Mentoring is a very powerful tool, which can make a positive and lasting contribution to your personal and career development. Mentoring/shadowing can help you with:

  • To help support you to develop your career potential
  • To give you an insight into digitalisation in the workplace
  • To support with your digital capabilities development and recognition
  • To improve your confidence
  • To build your awareness of what digitalisation skills employers are looking for
  • To help you network and discover who and what is ‘out there’
  • To support you with job applications, CVs and interviews

The companies currently offering Digital Mentorship and Shadowing opportunities are listed below. If you would like to apply for a place, please fill out the get involved form. Digital mentorship can be organised around your study commitments, and can also form part of your Lincoln Award criteria.

Anglian Water  

Anglian Water make every drop of water count for over six million customers – from the Humber in the North to the Thames in the South; and from Daventry in the West to Lowestoft in the East.

They are in the business of ‘loving every drop’. That means making sure that 1.1 billion litres of clean and safe drinking water is delivered to homes and businesses, everyday using enough pipeline to wrap around the world three times! And the story doesn’t stop there: their Water Recycling Service teams work hard to collect and treat used water from 2.44 million households. So they really are a company for all types of skills, built on people from many different backgrounds.

Micrometric       

Micrometric provide a subcontract laser manufacturing service to a wide range of business sectors, supplying anything from watch to tractor parts, from prototype to volume production.
